Give me a push on the back

The long anticipated holiday past with a silence. In fact, it happened so fast that I didn't know it was a holiday. Waking up at 2pm, I wondered what to do. I ate something but I don't know whether to consider it a breakfast or lunch.

I had the sudden urge to do my pp poster but I don't know where to start. I told myself that I am going to visit the school's library to see a sample of it. That is to make sure I am in the correct path. But I always forget and soon a week has past; nothing done.

People like us had the motivation at times, but sometimes we lack of a push on the back.

Ok, let's not talk about the sad things. On a happier note, my younger sis had a handphone! She is just Primary 3. It makes me think of what am I doing when I was 9 years old. Probably some stupid boy getting scolded by the teachers for copying during spelling.

Sometimes, I looked at the secondary school students with envy. They really know how to enjoy life. They had loads of money and they had luxurious handphones. As years past, the generation literally improved. The teens of the new generation are doing things way earlier than we can ever imagined.

Take myself for example, my elder sis got her first handphone at about primary 6 or so. Her time were the most popular Nokia 3210, like remote control. During her time, it is already very fortunate to get a handphone at that age.

For me, I got it at primary 4 or 5. Lost a couple of them and got reprimanded by parents. My handphone even got snatched by a group of malays at the basketball court. I chase them and got it back. The one which I caught beg me not to call the police but those at the basketball court had already done so. Those were the times where handphone became the lust to make people do things foolishly.

The new age of my younger sis make it even possible for her to get it at primary 3. As you can see, it became a trend for people to carry handphone at a much younger age. According to her friends, they had handphone at primary 1.

It's so unfair right?

Some motivational song!

BODY #19 SONG. Finally found it!

Holiday, NOT!

Things got out of control when we initially thought that today will be a popular "pon-ten" day. According to some theorem or thesis that was mentioned in Lester's blog, one could enjoy a 5 day holiday if you give today's lesson a miss! However, due to some miscalculation and prediction problems, a UT test was scheduled and we had to attend school.

Too much of a disappointment but it soon ended as laughter filled the entire classroom. Meet up with Sherman and Yuenky after school. Walked over to causeway point and bought the movie tickets for "Painted Skin".

As the movie only starts at 7:20pm, we had like 2 hours of free time. We were hungry like "siao gina". We kind of forget our decision on the place to eat and we kept talking nonsensically. Along the way, spasm face was shown to increase the madness to the maximum 9001.

We went Ajisen to have their promotional sets. As usual, as expected, the service was NO good at all. They are doing injustice to the service tax that we paid at the end of the day!

After that, we went Gelare for ice cream.

Too bad it wasn't tuesday or else we could have gotten the half price promotion. Bah!

Ok, Yuenky was happily snatching the ordering forms to write the orders. She purposely wrote the orders in her smallest possible way to tease the waiter. Obviously she was there to create trouble as the order forms clearly stated that she can only choose one out of the three; either fresh cream, chocolate sauce or maple syrup. She simply ticked two times and asked Sherman to submit the form. The waiter returned the favour by walking over to our table, ignoring that slip of ordering form.

This is what we choose.

If my memory was good, I was able to remember the flavours...

Starting from the pinkish one and goes clockwise : Wild Strawberry, Tropical Mango, Chocolate Overload, Cappucino, Passion Fruit, Butter Pecan, Tiramisu and Cookies n Cream.

My favourites were Wild Strawberry and Tropical Mango and so I hastily ate off the oreo biscuit that acts as a separator between the two. When they are combined, it taste way better than stand-alone.

And whenever yuenky or sherman doesn't like any flavours in particular, they will "kaykay" use the oreo biscuit to clamp up the unwanted ones so that it can be separated from those they like. Very sucky one lor.

As if the oreo biscuit wasn't poor enough, yuenky still wants to torture it by scraping off the cream and eating only one side of the biscuit. I pity the 7 oreo biscuits left. (One was fully eaten by me)

After eating, we walked briskly to the theater. The show started but luckily those were not important parts. I kind of like the mysterious feeling that the producer had created. I also like the music inserted at the correct part to evoke eerie and spooky feelings. Overall, a nice, expected kind of love-sacrificing movie.

Let's just hope that more "Liao Zai" kind of movies will be featured in the time to come.

Saturday, 27 Sep

It was a humid afternoon if my memory hasn't failed me. I was complaining about the heat and it almost exploded inside my mind. Anyway, I SLEPT! Yes you heard it right! I slept the saturday's afternoon away!

When I woke up, surprisingly Timothy also woke up! I was like "Ya, he was waiting for me to wake up". When he saw me, he made those pleading sound, like cat purring. I felt that he was extremely cute and well-behaved, I decided to carry him up as he might need a bit of stretch. I carried him to the living room and my mum shouted!

HE JUST SLEEP ONLY, WHY YOU GO AND WAKE HIM UP?

I looked at Timothy and asked him whether he had just woken up. He smiled cheekily but I bet he doesn't know what I was talking about. I knew that this was my fate as I was too easily deceived by babies. What to do? Make him back to sleep lor. (Making babies sleep is the most difficult tasks!!!)

Look what I found? A cute kitten.

DON'T WANT TO SLEEP, ANYHOW TURN HERE AND THERE! *Angry*

Ok he managed to turn and use his arms to support himself. Now what?

HE DON'T KNOW HOW TO TURN BACK AND HE CRY!!! LOL

I am laughing at his face right now typing this entry. Sorry about the shaky and blury pictures. He moved too much. Oh, and about the hat on his head, I FORCED IT IN! His head is too big for the hat and actually I don't know whether is he crying because the hat is too tight.

Ok after that, meet up with Tb, Mk and Hx, my usual clique. We wanted to catch a movie but all the show starts from 9pm onwards. We felt that it was too late as we will be playing cards around that time. We forgo it and went IMM to eat instead.

Going IMM was a bad move. We went there because we wanted to eat something. However we were unsure that there were so much people. Every restaurants or eating place we go, it's either no seats or long queues. The usually empty Burger King was full. The Macdonald curry sauce incident also doesn't seem to be a problem for their business. Places like Crystal Jade and Hong Kong restaurants had long queues like the once popular Hello Kitty queues!

Super bad luck and we were forced to retreat back to JE for Aston's. Even at Aston's we had to wait a good 25 minutes for the food to be served. We were like super hungry and I ordered my favourite of all; CHAR GRILL SALMON. It's $12.50 and I think it is quite expensive. But since I was so hungry and wanted it so much, I give it a try.

After that we head to my house. Lots of people came. My aunt and cousin, my sis and her husband, me and my clique, and not forgetting Timothy. We soon started our weekly dai dee session. Now let me explain a phenomenal experience...

Fig 1.1

I felt that there was a need to properly illustrates the experience in a form of pictoral so that it can be easily understood. Let us make it clear that the picture refers to "Fig 1.1".

Please refer to Fig 1.1, you can see that I had labelled somewhere a "jinx spot". That spot is in front of the window and hence it is commonly known as "window spot". Why is it called window or jinx spot is because it is believed that anyone who sits there will lose money when playing dai dee. Not just small amount but loses a big fortune. We had already tested it and we even informed the person that sit on that spot to be careful. True enough, everyone who sits there, lose. Not a single one won.

So you will say "Don't sit there lor". But we bound to find a way that will be fair to all the people. We picked cards and those who got the smallest card shall get the "jinx spot". Tb was the unlucky one who had to sit there for the night because he got the lowest digit card. He was also the record holder for losing the most amount (like 80 bucks) on that jinx spot.

The session ended at 8am and it turns out to be true. Tb lost $70 on that jinx spot. It was really a creepy sight to behold. I felt my hairs standing up because I won the most, $50. Hence I conclude, that place or spot, according to Fig 1.1, the windown spot/jinx spot was really CURSED!

Looks like I need to invite the greatest feng shui master to my house to take a look at the jinx spot.

Sorry, not her, she is currently pursuing master's degree.

Now! this look more convincing right?

- Master Issac Chung is a Face Reading and Feng Shui Master, with over 34 years of experience.

- Master Issac Chung learnt Feng Shui from a very famous Feng Shui Master, Lui Hart Ming from Hong Kong.

- Master Issac Chung always interviewed by different media such as Newspaper, Magazine, Radio, TV.

- A published author of 15 books in Chinese and 2 books in English, Master Chung's books can be purchased at this site.

Master Fong and Master Lui, the master's master of master Issac Chung. Sorry, I was off-tracked because I was too excited over the photos.

Ya, back to topic. Yes, I really need to invite a Feng shui Master because I cannot explain this unusual phenomenon. Anyway, I quickly fall asleep after they left. I woke up at about 3pm.

Saw Timothy eating Pumpkin. Look at how dirty he was!

Credits to my mum for making his mouth super dirty so that we can take these photos!

Very lastly, a photo of my younger sis, Jia Hui

She looks so mature! Gosh! She is growing up day by day!

Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel

Did not go to school today. My mum woke me up and I think for awhile before I replied her, "I not going school". The rain was splattering over the windows creating that violent storm effects outside. I couldn't imagine myself carrying an umbrella and still drenched from head to toe.

HA NA! DON'T WANT GO SCHOOL THEN SAY DON'T WANT LA. DON'T GIVE REASONS

Ya la, I don't feel like going school. But there are other reasons that are more forgivable on my part. I was in dilemma fearing that the facilitator does not allow me to leave earlier because I promised Lilian auntie to work. I went to work instead!

So I met Lilian at Tiong Bahru. When I was going to tap my ez-link card, she is just in front of me! So coincidence. While we was early, she treated me to eat yam cake and black sesame. It was a long time since I last visited Tiong Bahru Plaza. My grandmother used to live there and I begin to reminisce about that time.

After that we took taxi to Havelock road and reached Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.

Sorry to interrupt but I am not here for a holiday. I am here to work. My work is very simple, Just prepare the goodie bags for tomorrow's event. What is best about it is that we are preparing the the goodie bags in the KingFisher's room. I don't know why is it called this way but it sounded grand. Like king.

We worked a tad too fast and we had like one hour of free time. They presumed we will take longer and hence did not bother to bring up the stuff first. So we begin exploring the room.

Very spacious

Can you see the pantry area with cups and coffee mixer? The waiters there was so kind, they prepared for us as they know people are coming.

The million dollar view from the Kingfisher's room

Condo that is in progress opposite Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Heard that it will more than one million to live there.

The event will be held in this ballroom. Did you see the black file name "Zao"? It was actually "Zao bao" and it was prepared by us!

The ballroom's view.

One thing about hotel's toilet; It's like they haven't been used before.

I kept bragging about the hotel and did not say the motives of this function. It has something to do with Old Chang Kee expanding over to China! Woohoo. I thought OCK was from China and now it's expanding to China. It was so stupid of me.

After the whole day, I managed to take some OCK's coupons that was supposingly in the goodie bags. Do note that these are leftovers. I also took some lipton's tea packets and they are not from the goodie bags itself. It's from the hotel LOL.

VERY HAPPY... MUAHAHAHAHHA!

After that eat and went home. Separating Timothy's photo from today's entry because Timothy should be a stand-alone posts. Why? because he is unique!

Life, like that

Sitting on the MRT train, you probably stayed in your seat if you managed to get one. It is especially rare if it is about the busiest hours of the day; Morning. Out of the blue, YOU SAW A BACK-VIEW OF A HEAD in front of you! Would you be scare to death as if swarm of bees flew from the side to your face?

A closer inspection leads you to find out that it was someone beside you, a inconsiderate one, who was asleep and had his or her head leaning towards you. You would ask me how the head got in front of me? Usually they would just accidentally bump into one side of the shoulder and after that they would be awake because of the awkwardness.

However, this guy has a boneless neck and it happens that he does not even have a sense of direction too. He first bend forward slightly because he was really tired then the next moment, HIS HEAD TILT 90 DEGREES TO THE FRONT OF MY NOSE! one of the hair almost touches my nose.

With such a big movement, normal people would have woke up and said sorry. He did apologized with a gesture of hand signal and almost immediately FALLING ASLEEP AGAIN! (with the head tilting to another side).

This went on from Yew Tee to Woodlands and I am that sort which does not give up my seat upon seated. I feel like slapping the back of his head and this shall make him awake for the rest of his life. Seriously, if you are that tired, you either stand up so that you won't annoy people at your sides.

If you don't know what is annoying, then this picture is you.

Anyway, I was buying food one afternoon. I happened to overheard some conversation among the hawkers while waiting.

Nasi lemak seller: Wah you so stingy ar? coffee also home-made one, don't let the drinks stall earn...
Noodle seller: The boss got say we cannot drink home-made coffee meh?
Some Dish Washer: Never say but you should know maaaaa (with dragging sound)
Noodle seller: Don't let him see lor
Nasi lemak seller: He don't need to see it himself, others will tell him.

P/S: The boss of the coffee shop is usually the boss of the drinks stall.

Suddenly, I came to realise that the world is full of back-stabbing. Something like these happened anywhere, be it in class, in workplace or in life. If you were the boss, would you allow such acts? If you are the Noodle seller, would you care? Or if you are the extra calefares like Nasi lemak seller and dish washer, would you tell the boss?

While pondering over such matters, a voice shouted at me because the food I ordered is ready for collection. I told myself that this is human nature. I have been through these circumstances in parts of my life. Each of them had different consequences. People usually wear a facade and I wondered if there is something called "Perfect beings"

Just a small thoughts that I went through while waiting for my food to be ready.

Sashimi, Sushi!

Suddenly had the urge to post about Sushi and Sashimi. Today, my dinner is just this...

It barely fills my stomach. How I wish I could work in a Japanese Restaurant and secretly eat up all their sushi. When the boss asked me where's the sushi, I will just say I eaten all of them.

My favourite of all is the Sashimi ones.

Sushi is a combination of sashimi (raw fish/seafood), vinegared rice (also called sushi) and/or vegetables and/or other ingredients usually served in a bowl or box. This style is known as chirashi-zushi. Maki-zushi combines these ingredients, which are wrapped in nori (seaweed) and cut into small rolls resembling tiny tires.

http://www.mysanantonio.com/life/food/28483704.html

Just typing this entry alone makes me super hungry. I only ate 5 sushi just now and I am looking at so many different types to sushi. Please, one of these days I should visit Sakae or Suki buffet to eat till I mad. I am craving for it's sashimis!

Here are some of the toppings:

Shiro Maguro - albacore
Unagi - freshwater eel
Hirame - halibut
Saba - mackerel
Tai - red snapper
Sake - salmon
Maguro - tuna
Hamachi - yellowtail
Kani - crab
Ebi - shrimp
Tako - octopus
Hotategai - scallop
Uni - sea urchin
Ika - squid

Bet you only managed to know a few unless you are really a super duper hardcore sushi lovers. Ever wondered why the toppings is always seafood based? I am not sure either. But as long as it is fresh and nice, anything will do.

Here is a video on "live" fish, Ika and mini sushi

I really hate it when the squid goes curly-wurly and refused to die. How can something being cut off, still moves? I really don't understand. Besides that, the fish was frozen to death and you can see it shivering. How delicious. *Gulp*

Looking at this, you know it will be very expensive. I mean they presented it in a form of boat but can you please spare the fish? The fish goes looking at you whenever you tried to lift a meat near it. What's more, the fish opened it's mouth as if they were shouting "No~~~"

Compare this picture with the one I took. Suddenly I realised what I ate was the "cheap" salmon meat while this is the real stuff.

Somebody please cut up this lump of sashimi into edible size. You can't expect us to bite it like you eat apples.

The more I see the pictures of sashimi, the more I want to run over to the nearest Japanese Restaurant to have a feast.

CUTE!

After some consideration, I have decided...

TO POST MY NEPHEW 10 MINUTES TALKING VIDEO!

Firstly, please pardon me of the quality of the video. It might be laggy for some of you.

This video had been taken long ago by my younger sis. It was a rare sight to see Timothy talked in gibberish for that long!

Please comment on whether you are able to view the video, or in anyway, the blog itself.

Gets very excited when we are about to carry him out from his "sarong"

In the meantime, while waiting for someone to carry him out, he played with his FAT fingers

Now his FAT and CLEAN feet!

He peeked through the holes!

Yay, finally got out and was able to stretch. Look at his contented smile (No teeth!) BOO

On the other hand, looking at the smiling pictures of timothy made me think of the very unfortunate babies that develop kidney stones from contaminated milk powder in China.

They do not have a choice on what they are fed on. They do not even know whether the milk that they are drinking are safe or not. What has happened was really unfortunate for them.

Like the other day I talked to my mum about this case, I told her that we might be eating or drinking something that is contaminated. It is only when the poison or contamination builds up and it is at its optimum, it might caused death to one self. I was taken aback by the vulnerability of the babies when they develop kidney stones that quickly.

It is like smoking whereby you know it is harmful to you and yet you want do it. Same as contaminated milk powder, second hand smoke can also harm the babies. As the toxic that the babies breathe in, it might caused death for them. Once again, babies has naturally weaker vulnerability. Give them a chance to grow healthily. Stop smoking!

Cash studio

Went to cash studio with my friends to have a karaoke cum catching up session. It's located near havelock road which is quite "ULU". However, because the price is quite cheap, (cheaper than Kbox) and also the very updated lists of songs make it a favourable spot.

The room was spacious and the sofa was not like some Kbox outlets whereby it is torn and had sands or sponge coming out. We can also run around the room and it's more than enough space for the 4 of us. In terms of drinks choices, CS gave can drinks and has limited options while Kbox gave customize drinks and has lots of options.

After the singing session, we requested for the waiter to take photo for us. Seriously, I don't know why he ask us to leave despite the emptiness of the studio. They should let us continue to sing until the room is needed.

We are not satisfied because he don't let us sing longer. We made him take more photos for us.

This was supposed to be candid shot...

Me, Mk, Tb and Rf =)

After that, we met Hx for dinner. We were shocked to hear that JEC is closing soon. They will be closed for renovation and that will only means lesser hang out place. Not to forget the ice skating place that is also one of the biggest in Singapore! We quickly rush to it's Fuji Ice palace to experience it before it's extinct forever!

At there we saw people practising their elegant moves in the center. We also noticed that the place is a hang out place for the construction workers/Indians/immigrants because of the free flow of air-cons there.

We ate Aston and watch "Disaster movie"

It was a very relaxing movie because all the things shown in the movie is exaggerating. I laugh until mad because I simply laughed at ANYTHING. Well, be warned though, if you are that sort of people who don't like nonsensical movies, don't watch it! BOO!

The character that I like the most throughout the movie was the girl in blue, from Enchanted. The looks and sounds of hers are like the real stuff. The only thing I don't know is that she wore glass shoes like Cinderella did and when her glass shoe shattered and cut her feet, that part was super hilarious.

The most "not alike" characters is Prince Caspian la. He is like the out-cast out of the whole lot of people. Although he acted as "Batman, Beowulf, Wolf / Javier Bardem Look-A-Like, Hellboy, Police Officer" but the worst is Prince Caspian!

NOW YOU SEE!

After the movie, we went home as we were too tired for the day.
