My Secondary Art

I always complain that if I were to take Art as one of my module during my O levels, I would have scored better. Not that I care now but as I was packing my room, I looked at my secondary school's Art work and was amazed by some of them no matter how many times I look at it.

My mid year exam pieces

The topic I chose was festive occasion. Pretty easy one. You can draw about any festive occasions like Christmas, Chinese new year etc. Of course, I drew about Chinese new year because I know this topic too well. (hint: red packets)

We need to do preparatory work before the real exam itself. If I remember correctly, we were given like 1 month time to research and do out the preparatory stuff.

I decided to approach it with the mind map style. You know lah, this being Art module, you need to draw everything even when it comes to mind map.

Then we have to go in depth into the description. Many people fail Art because they don't know what to draw and then they will say "Must draw what arh???". Once they don't even try, it is the same as don't even know what to draw!

^By the way, this is my favourite of the lot!

I love Art exam because you are allowed to do funny things in the preparatory work months ahead before you do your final piece on the actual day itself. Doing the preparatory work well is enough to get you at least a B grade. The problem with us at that age would be our laziness and passion.

Even though I spelt the 'traditional' wrongly, I can any-o-how add in the 'o' as and when I like it. Unlike Mathematics, less 1 '0' is a big difference.

My final piece! Not that great but still good enough for distinction!

I think if I can re-do it now, I will do a better job than this 100 times!

My End of year exam pieces

If I am not wrong, I chose the topic, 'My family and I'. Yes, I know it's pretty boring so you have to make it interesting enough to draw!

Obviously, this mind map is better than the mid year one. Of course there must be improvements lah!

Nonsensical contents but fabulous drawing! :) (You can see that the teacher is pretending to mark the piece with pencil ticks)

More nonsense! Waste my magic markers ink lor. should have used crayons instead.

draft.

final piece.

Forgot the marks but I know I also got an 'A'.

Ok, if I have the time, I will show my trophies for running because nobody believe me when I told them that I am good at running!

Happy birthday to my mum! (23 Nov)

She likes purple, hence the title colour.

To celebrate my mum's birthday, we went to safra Kbox in the morning to have the K lunch hours. Unfortunately, Timothy went along and he created havoc in the singing room. His crying is louder than the singing. My sis, which is timothy's mum, suffered, and I remembered her singing one or two lines of the song, "Ji Shi Ben" by Kelly Chen.

My mum took a 1 week leave from work just so that she can rest and enjoy her birthday (actually she just want to clear the leave)

After singing, we went 'The icing room' at Jurong point to make cake! This is my second time going there and third time designing the cakes.

See background, 'The Icing Room'

'Katherine' is my mum's name and obviously the 'chio' woman is my mum with act chio ribbon on hair and heart shapes mouth.

Super nice right? I am so proud of my creation.

There's a kid beside me that is also making a cake for her parents. She kept asking me questions like 'who's the girl on the cake?', 'who is it for?', 'What are you drawing?'. Super noisy. Feel like swiping off her cake.

The simple birthday celebration ended at my house with singing of birthday song and cutting of cake. Still prefer the vanilla cake to chocolate cake.

Anyway, Yk is taking forever to upload the pictures for the Bishan prawning.

So what I have here is the prawns that me, my sis and her husband caught.

Mysteriously, the prawns contained lots of eggs at the head region and most disgustingly, there's fats and they looked like brain juices!

Despite it being described as such, it still taste nice! Besides, the feeling of eating the prawns that you caught using your own hands make it all the more tastier!

Lastly, L4D2 is uber pwnage. I love splitter so much!!!

Look at the two pig tails and the elongated neck. Not forgetting that the mouth tearing looks is from the movie, 'The mirror'. With a sexy beer belly, she spits a stream of poisonous liquid at the enemy while wearing her leopard print 'Ris-low-wannabe' bra. Her contrasting three quarter pants had blood stains and the pinky little shoes makes her irresistible. I am so in love with her!

Haagen-Dazs @ Tampines Mall

Slurp, went to Haagen-Dazs after shopping for mum's present. That's like after 1 hour of shopping and our legs are tired. Seriously, I hate shopping especially when I am shopping for things that is not for myself. Nevertheless, Mummy! You are the best! (Don't dare to say it in her face!!!)

Their promotion item, $14.90.

Consists of Dark chocolate + orange, Chocolate chips and Passion fruit flavours.

Banana Boat

Consists of Strawberry cheesecake, Cookie and cream and Passion fruit + mango flavours.

I especially love the almond flakes! crunchy!

However, the banana become tasteless because of the sweet ice cream!

Watched 2012 and it's super nice. Teared 3 times.

*During the movie

Whenever I tear (indian family saying goodbye to each other, looking at the devastated land on the airplane), I will just let it drop because I don't want my sis to notice that I cry. But since she started first to wipe off the tears using the tissue from the jumbo hotdog, I asked for one tissue too. There is nothing to be shy about having emotions.

Lastly, people are raving about the Doom's day in 2012 after watching this movie. After much thoughts, I think if it is going to come, then let it come with all might and kill us with one swipe.

Man who ate his own mother

After reading the bloody title, don't you feel like reading on what is it all about?

Taken from: Myfoxillinois on Friday the 13th, 2009

A Russian man has been given a reduced sentence because the judge said "he needed to eat" after he killed and ate parts of his mother.

The Daily Mail reports that Sergey Gavrilov received a shorter jail sentence after confessing he was hungry and needed to eat his mom because he had spent all of his money on vodka and gambling. Russia's law usually assigns 15 years in jail for those who have committed crimes like Gavrilov's, but the convict will serve 14 years and three months.

The newspaper reports that Gavrilov killed his mother by hitting her head with a brick and strangling her after she refused to give him money to spend on alcohol. He put her body on the balcony at their home in southern Russia, and then went away for two days on a gambling and drinking binge.

He returned home hungry. With no food around, he started eating parts of his mother.

Police discovered the grisly scene when they were called to the home, suspecting he had stolen a cell phone.

If I am correct, Gav might be on drugs although he said that he had spent all his money on vodka and gambling. This might be the only reason why he would have the heart to kill his own mother.

I don't think the reason of refusing to give him money to spend and hence killing the mother is a good reason and much worst, returning home hungry with no food around and started eating parts of his mother?

WHAT IS THIS?!!?!

He even dared to say it like as if it is his mother's fault. Seriously, if the reason of "he needed to eat" is valid to reduce the sentence by 9 months, then everybody in Russia can go around the streets and start to steal food from the vendors and when they are caught, they just say, "I need to eat". With that reason, it is enough to be scot-free because the crime committed should be considered a minor one.

I had heard enough stories of parents killing/eating their own child or other's child but this is my first time hearing their own son killing the own mother. (he even get reduced sentence just by saying, "he needed to eat")

Chao Ji Xing Guang Da Dao 5 finals

I know this is long overdue but just want to share it to those that haven't watch it.

It's really nice to see how the contestants grow over the period when they first started till now. Every contestants had a story to tell and I like Xu Yong Ling's true story the best. Towards the end, like part 14 and 15, there is a feeling of sadness but fear not! Chao Ji Xing Guang Da Dao 6 will return!

While you are at it, why not view the aftermath of the competition?

They actually invited the top 10 finalists and give them awards for the glory moments. This is also because on that big day itself, there's simply not enough time for the winners to say their winning speech.

I thought after finals will be the end but they actually did the follow-ups.
