Pulau Ubin trip 3

The people that went: Mk, Hx, Tb, Jeanette, Jinjin and me.

This is my third time going to pulau ubin. It is also the most tired of all ubin trips because I kept laughing. It is a day that I really forget all the unhappy things that happened recently and play my hearts out. Spending the wholesome day with friends that are said to be priceless experiences.

Looks like everyone is anxious about this trip as we made several calls to remind each other from time to time. Thanks to all that made this trip possible. Thanks for showing all the enthusiasm needed to fill the trip with laughter almost throughout the whole journey!

We all gathered at clementi around 10:30am. Jinjin was late because she cannot find her bag. (Read this sentence 100 times and you will find it strange) We stood through the whole journey from clementi to Tenah merah. After that, we took bus number 2 to changi village and EAT!. The jetty was there as well.

Whenever you go changi village, of course must try their changi village nasi lemak!

This plate of nasi lemak is hard to get. We had to queue 15-20 minutes just to eat this. Although their specialities is their chicken wings and drumsticks, I didn't order it because I was lazy to wash my hands after eating it. My fish fillet is nice as it is served piping hot.

After eating, we went over to the jetty and board the boat. The price of the trip from the jetty to pulau ubin increased by 50 cents, making it a total of $2.50 per head.

Once on the boat, we spam photo-taking like we are some crazy tourists.

The uncle was kind enough to let us move around the boat. Sure enough, we move like nobody's business as we even went behind the uncle and anyhow take pictures.

He nonchalantly show me how he control the direction of the boat by pushing against some handler or something.

Love the wind and the sun for today. Luckily it wasn't raining or else it would have dampen our moods.

After that, we finally reached Pulau Ubin!

Everything didn't change much and it was still the same. The bicycle loaning stores were there and they are offering $2 for bicycles for the whole day. After some investigation, they were found to be hoax! These are the business gimmicks to win the customer's greedy thoughts.

Anyway, we just loan bicycles from the first store of the alighting point as it was convenient. Their bikes were also "presentable" and was available for trying first, before paying. I rememebered the last two trips, we also loan from them and didn't have much problems. So why not save the hassle?

We loan 2 doubles, and 2 singles. As Tb and Jinjin doesn't know how to cycle, me and Jeanette helped them out by loaning the double ones. We tried the bikes and everything was okay. We are all ready to go!

After a few kilometers away, Jeanette and Jinjin was giggling at me and Tb. Jeanette accidentally lose control and both of them fall from their bike. Since Jeanette was the one in the front seat, she was better able to predict the fall and hence she was unhurt. However, Jinjin suffered a cut at her knee and some of them at her palms as she was at the back seat.

After this, Jeanette exchange position with Mk. It was Mk's turn to ride the double seater. However, not long after, the gear came loose as they were unable to sychronised well enough.

It was really a "not-so-good" start. In the end, we had no choice but to return back to the store to exchange another one. Once we got the bike, we quickly rush off as we don't want to waste any time. This time round, all things were smooth and we were happily cycling to the beach.

We crossed my humps before we reached the beach. It was a tiring journey. I guess it was due to not exercising much during our holidays.

After the beach, we decided to cycle back to a place that we used to visit in ubin trip 2. It is a place that we rest, play badminton, drink 100 plus and a big cookie monster!

This photo is taken Sunday, April 22, 2007, 3:51:46 AM (Hello Jinjin!)

When we are done resting, we cycle back to the store as we are hungry and tired. Halfway through, our gear chains came off as well. Luckily the distance away from the store wasn't far or else I would have died on the spot.

The price for singles is $8 and doubles is $15. It wasn't expensive as compared to sentosa which was a ripped off. We waited for Jeanette and Jinjin while they bath. When they are done, we walked over to the seafood restaurant.

Do you know why there is a bag of water hang above every table? It is to scare away the flies that might fly around your seafood that you ordered. You can gently sway the bag of water back and fro.

We ordered 4 dishes and shared among ourselves.

With a full stomach, we took a family photo just before we left the island with happy memories!

I love this picture so much.

Again, we took the same kind of boat back. In the morning, we walk around the boat's front side. As we are returning, we stood in the open air of the boat's back side. The natural lightings from the sun rays is so nice that we took some really nice shots.

After getting down from boat, our legs were like jelly. However, we still want to spend more time with each other and hence we went to the nearby beach.

Friends forever okay?

One for all, all for one.

The ah neh neh style.

The unglamourous shots

The gold diggers

After the beach, we went to take the MRT. As it was a long journey, we took the train to Pasir Ris so that we can get all the seats we wanted.

We were so tired by this time. Some of us were even chionging home to watch xiao niang re.

Overall, it was a great day. Let's look forward to the next outings. Also hope that Jinjin and Tb can faster learn to ride the bicycle so that you all wouldn't be bored.
