Update: Chao Ji Xing Guang Da Dao 超級星光大道 14 August will be postponed to next week instead. I know, everyone is waiting for this.

Where Got Ghost

This is yet another Jack Neo's creation. This time, he decides to venture into horror film yet introducing a jet of laughter into it. As the movie name suggests, it will make you laugh like crazy. However, this is not the case for me. The movie is kind of predictable and sometimes you just know what is happening next.

The unique thing about this movie is that it has a total of 3 stories in the movie. However, if you have seen "Ying Yang Lu", it is not unique at all. In fact, you will think they actually copied the idea. However, it makes my movie experience more worth it as it shows 3 short stories at the price of 1 movie ticket.

Something I feel recommendable is that it has a strong 'Singapore' feel in this movie. Despite it being a comedy and horror film, the movie was pieced up nicely and presented in a Singaporean way. One example is the second story whereby it happened in the jungle during the Army time. It talks about the life of Singaporeans during their army days and a ghost story which is quite familiar to the army people; but they twist it a bit.

Out of the 3 stories, I like the first one (Roadside Got Ghost) best. The idea is really good. Lottery is made up of combination from 0000 to 9999. There are 10000 group of numbers. Every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, there will be 23 groups of numbers that will become the winning numbers.

So what this genius swindler does is to call 10000 people and assigned them to a group of number. He will say that this is the God of wealth's lottery number to you and all you have to do is buy it. If you win, you must give back 20 percent commission as a donation for them to build a temple. Of course they made use of the yellow page phone book to make the 10000 random calls and addresses are provided once they know who are the ones who wins the given numbers.

However, this plan is not perfect. There will be people denying that they didn't win the prize money at all but I still think this plan is workable with some modification.
