My birthday cum resort world

Went to sentosa with cheapo lovelies. It's been long since we last meet up. I am glad they still remember my birthday and bothered to meet up and pass me present. The latter part is more important. Just joking!

Present is love

They bought me a gift + ang pow of $10 because they say they don't know how to split the $10 among themselves. Thanks for the gift from Teresa, Yuenky, Sherman, Lester and Marcus! (I must note it down so that I will need to return the favour to them)

Next in line will be Teresa's turn!

So anyway, we took skytrain and as usual, lots of gossip were being shared. It seems like we will never run out of topic and they will never be a dull moment during our cheapo meet up.

On the skytrain

While we were on the skytrain, we overlooked the resort world that is still currently in progress. The cheaply, chirpy us decided to go take a look ahead of others so as to not lose out.

The direction sign board is shaped like a flower and butterfly

I think only the casino get a head start on others as they are opened way earlier than the universal studios. Since we are on the topic of casino, I heard that any other people, except Singaporean, need not pay $100 before they enter. I don't think it's fair although it raises Singapore's economy. Think of the possibilities that might happened.

OMG! Universal studios

Coming soon Opening soon

This is the best we can go, U-n-i-v-e-r-s...

The thing keep rotating and nobody can ever take the full Universal logo.

On the Skyride! Lester, Teresa and Yuenky!

I conclude that this is the best photo out of the lot because it takes into account what the target audience wants. The photo also achieve the right balance. It also captures everything within one shot.

Down with Luge! Me and Sherman!

We came down the skyride with luge and we do this for 2 times consecutively. 2 times cost $16 and 1 time cost $11. Of course we take the 2 times!

Coming down with Luge was super cheapo. They keep breaking so that they can make their luge experiences more worthwhile. I am sure the people on the skyride saw this and report it to STOMP!

Power combined

After the skyride and luge, we went to the beach to do jumpshots. The banana boat person was kind enough to help us take photos. Amazingly, it only take 2 shots. We thought it will be 100 shots because there will always be a balck sheep

PERFECT! if only without the belongings

Next, we moved on to the most anticipated activity. For a moment, I hope it was the flying fox but only Teresa was keen on it. Hence, according to majority, we went to 4D Magix instead to experience the 4D ride.

Extreme Log ride, $18 per pax

When we are purchasing the tickets from the ticket booth, the ticket seller easily guess that we are locals because of the traits we possessed. We were puzzled about whether to get the package or just a single ride. The ticket seller offered us to get the package deal because it's more worth it. In the end, we settled for single ride, despite his marketing skills, which is a blessing in disguise!

Preparing to start our 4D experience

Before that, we actually went through a video session telling us what are the do's and don'ts. The video lasts about 15 minutes and the real ride only lasts 5 minutes! Super disappointed...

However, after the ride itself, I laughed until my jaws become numb. I just keep laughing, don't know why.

Shall end the post abruptly with a photo with Me and Teresa. She told me to credit her for the photos that were taken throughout the day. If I don't do this, means I not automatic. LOL

Hope that the cheapo spirit never dies!

Happy birthday to me!

Had a surprise stayover at chalet (costa sands) with my secondary school peeps + besties + family members. I didn't know anything until my mum broke the news to me on the 19th Feb, on my birthday morning.

Mum: *out of nowhere*, how many days you all staying?
Me: ????
Mum: You don't know meh?
Me: Oh I know liao...

You see, I didn't purposely kill the surprise thingy that was being organized by the people but you will get suspicious when it's your birthday and such a sensitive question pops out from nowhere.

Clever me, I immediately figured out that it was a chalet or some sort of stayover thingy. When I continued to pursue my mum to tell me the details, she just say nothing. Later on, I was told to pack my bag as they knew I had already figured it out.

Actually I was more impressed with the way they organized it without me knowing it until my birthday. I could imagined the inbetweens where they called each other to confirm the booking of chalet and this usually takes 1 month advance.

And so, I followed them to buy things, transport BBQ stuff and fetching people to the chalet (all these are supposed to be surprise!)

Upon reaching there, we unload everything and proceed with the bbq stuff. Some of us are in charge of marinating the chicken wings while others are in charge of starting fire. Some of them just laze around but we do not allow lazy bums so they quickly help out in one way or another.

Fire started!

Good job to those who start the fire. How can black coal start fire just like that? Must be a tedious job!

Marinated with BBQ sauce by Jeanette and Me!

Hope no one got upset stomach after this because we, apparently did the marinating in the chalet's toilet basin. Never knew marinating can be such a tedious job considering the fact that there are instant marinated chicken wings out there in the market and why are we doing it the traditional way?

Anyway, alot of food was wasted because the ratio of 1 person is to eat about 8 chicken wings but the most eaten might be my sis with 3 chicken wings claiming champion. That relates a lot about the wastage.

Soon it was night time and jinjin don't allow me to enter the room. That got me suspicious as there are definitely something going on in the room. They are actually planning something very sinister to the birthday boy.

So this was what they planned (A good guide on how to sabotage a birthday boy)

Turn 21 rounds which represents 21 years old

After turning, you need to walk in a straight line between 2 cups or else there's a punishment involved. The 21 rounds must have been 25 rounds because they purposely miscount and such making me feel like being older and older. After that, I stood up being dizzy for like 20 seconds but it was walkable.

I knew I walked like as though there was a ruler on the ground and I didn't cross any lines but they just keep saying that I walk a bit crooked and they also said that I deserved the punishment.

So the punishment was...

Sour, Sweet, Bitter and Spicy. All in one

For Sour, they used squeezed lemon juice and marshmallows for sweet which I think they were really sweet to me. For bitter, it is none other than bitter gourd and spicy was wasabi. All in all, I almost puke because my esophagus rejects the taste!

After that, they asked me to stand in the middle and they started throwing me water bombs. I quickly grabbed a few and chase some of them to share the wetness. I remembered blasting jeanette at her back!

It was still not over. They pretended that everything is over but they asked me to take out candle from a slice of cake. The cake was obviously no candle and how am I supposed to get anything out from it?

Look at Jh's hand! All ready to push me down! Still say you never 'hai' me!

Without warning, Jeanette smashed the cake, that I am trying to look for the invisible candle from, into my face. They whole chain of chasing began and I started smearing bits from my own face and oiling people's faces.

In the end, Hx suffered injuries when I am chasing him and Jh, who never likes cheese, got smeared in the face and hair all over with cheese cake. He almost puke!

Thanks everyone for the awesome night! We even played blackjack and Jh got triple 7! Sleeping was a bit crampy because there were 10 of us staying over.

Next day...

Had late breakfast, went arcade to take neoprints and cycling/skating/falling.

Not very pro with skates but was bored with cycling

The rest go for cycling!

Time passes really fast and soon many of them need to go home. It was left with me, Ws and Hx having the whole room to relax! We reminded ourselves to wake up at 8am to book out early the next day. We had breakfast at whitesands and then MRT all the way home!

Overall, Thanks for the wonderful chalet stayover for my 21st birthday. I am sure the chalet costs a bomb for many of you. I certainly enjoyed myself for the chalet moments and it has been the best birthday ever!

P/S

People involved at chalet: Jinjin, Jeanette, Qiuyin, Shiying, Huimin, Ruifang, Both Sisters, Mum, Ah peng, Timothy, Huixiang, Jinhong, Mengkha, Minghai and myself.

Also thanks those who texts me happy birthday at handphone and in Facebook as well. No matter is it belated or too early birthday wishes, I still regard it as a sign of appreciation! Thanks!

Post and Pre Chinese new year!

I just had an awesome Chinese New Year considering the fact that it has already been the fourth day of the CNY and the family and I are still in the festive mood. Partly because they are all on leave for a whole week and that means more time spent being together! The previous years, all of us usually go back into their work or studies right after CNY. Kind of like, spoiler of the year.

除夕(Chu Xi) - The day before Chinese new year

Went to my ah ma house (father side) to have dinner. The people are all scattered and they all came at different timing. I am not rather close to the people there but we only sees each other once every year, so no choice. However, I only saw my shu shu this year, which is also the one who scolded me last year. Out of all people, he just need to come at that timing.

初一(Chu Yi)

Dressed up in new clothes and I remembered waking up feeling especially happy. People call it the 'festive mood' but I don't know why but to feel that something good will happen on that day.

Went to my Popo(婆婆) house and this is a place that I must go every year during Chu Yi. Not because the ang pows given by the relatives are especially huge or neither it has very delicious food all decked out to welcome us. The reason is simple; We just want to get together.

Nothing beats being together and I love this feeling. I guess all the relatives feel the same just like me. If I can understand this simple logic, I don't think the adults cannot get it. I think we should treasure what we are experiencing now or else when the day comes where we lose the chance to experience 'it'.

So anyway, I gambled with the relatives and during night time we went to Uncle Ringo UK Funfair at Marina Bay with my Xiao yi and cousins.

Forget the name of it but Genting has it

This might be the same as the one in Genting but this is more exciting because it spins faster and they blast music into your ears making you dizzy and all!

Forget the name of it again but it is some sort like pirate ship but instead of 180 degrees, it turns 360 degrees!

This is super violent! One of the most dangerous ride that I play before. This thing only turn in circular motion and you imagine when it is at the top part when your whole body is facing the high grounds and the machine hang there for 5 seconds. Your body is not tightly fixed to the seats, instead you can move around when the machine hang there, giving you the 'dropping-off-your-seats' sensation.

Nobody dares to play Top gun because only a few people allowed. This makes people scared but actually it's alright.

Top gun - like playing swings.

After that went to Xing Wang to have late dinner and Kbox until 4am!

Thanks for the free ride home!

初二(Chu Er)

Feeling especially tired from last night which I slept only at 5am, I woke up at 9am to prepare myself for San Jiang Hui Guan. It is a place to eat and get ang pows which is a must go every year during Chu Er. I have been going there consecutively for 7 years?

After that went to Jh's place to play Texas hold'em poker. We played it according to Zygna style, Facebook. Lost $13 and I am blaming it for zodiac snake who happens to Fan Tai Sui this year! Super bad luck!

Went to Hx's place after some Lan gaming and tabao-ing Mac. Took a cab and it's almost midnight by then. Played Big 2, 'SiGi Puek' and blackjack. No lose no win.

初三 (Chu San)

Chu San onwards, just go shopping and stuff. Chu Liu is my birthday! Happy birthday to myself!

Free-ed

Yesterday was the last test, Hospitality. My stomach growled like 7 times during the test and the people at the same table kept looking at me. The facilitator walking past me also looked at me. (Don't ask me how I know, I just know)

Anyway, that's not the point. I am literally/officially, in between of these two, graduated from Poly life! Just in the nick of time, before Chinese new year and Valentine. I am now lazing at home doing nothing but working on some miscellaneous stuff.

This year's Chinese new year and valentine will fall on the same day. For those who have your other half, it might be challenging to balance between family and relationship. When you choose your girlfriend/boyfriend, you might not be able to spend time with your family. Your parents will ask you to go home visiting and then your other half gets neglected. The best win-win situation is to bring your loved ones along and hopefully, it turns out well.

Lastly, (I hope it's not too late) Thank you to all my friends in the poly life. This marks the end of another beginning in my life. (sounds like suicidal letter)

I don't get the chance to say bye bye to each and everyone of you. But if you managed to read this, it means I am referring to you okay? Anyone, it doesn't matter.

I tried to recall back to my year one. Ian, Jiajun, Andrew, Ziqi, Zhi Han, Wei Zhong and Adillah. Those are the first few friends I had in RP and they are all some fun! Most of them are included in the paint story board which is also a reason why I started drawing comic strips. Thank you my friends for all the lunch gossips we had!

I can't believe I looked so pure in year 1!

Year 2 spells trouble for me as I knew a bunch of potential pon-teng-ers like Teresa, Sophia, Yuenky, Yuen feng, Jeff, Sherman, Lester, Marcus and KC. We just keep pon-teng like nobody's business and ignore the facilitator(table cloth) that treat us badly. Good ones like science and culture faci, we will pretend to listen and work hard. Missed the DotA days!!

We all looked so young in this photo!

Year 3 is "one for all, all for one" year! We stick together like glue. The glue include Andy, Shao cheng, Zakia and William. Although I knew them back in year 2, we continued to choose the same modules, hoping to get into the same class and some of us actually did it! We still go to lunch together.

We took this picture back in year 2 and we took another picture in year 3 with the same pose! (Don't have the picture now)

All in all, my poly days are memorable. I'm lovin it!

CMPB!

Went to CMPB for checkup on Wednesday. This is my first body checkup in my entire life. Got PES A as a result but the most confirmed result have yet to be released. Must wait for the blood test and what's not to determine whether I got any diseases. Most certainly, I am PES A...

The reasons for this entry is to help people know how to go CMPB and giving tips and what to expect at CMPB so that you will not be so blur.

How to go CMPB

I figured out that this is the most frequently asked question when people are going to CMPB. I, myself did a google search the day before I went. Many people said that you just take MRT to Redhill station then take a cab and it will directly bring you to CMPB.

The first part was quite good considering that they actually locate the MRT station to alight. The second part was redundant because who don't know how to take cab? It's like saying, you have to open your mouth to eat something.

So MINDEF actually provides map and how to get there via MRT and Buses.

What to expect at CMPB?

Firstly, when you reached there, you are not allowed to bring camera phones or cameras. There will be a locker to place your valuables in when you 'check-in'. No need to bring health booklet although they asked you to do so. (unless you have something to show in it) You need to bring a print out declaration form with parent's signature or else you can go home and book another date to come again.

When you reached the registration counter, everything just reply that you are here for checkup and give your NRIC or EZlink card to get a form of the overall summary of the stations you need to go to.

Photo taking

This is the first station. You need to take off clothes and wear a 'fake' uniform and that's not all. The camera man (a weird guy with no nonsense talking) will spray a large amount of water on your hair to make you look really hideous for the photo. Your hair will be dripping water and you will look something like hitler's hairstyle.

With hair all wet and dripping with water, you proceed to next station.

Form filling

As the title suggests, you need to do administrative stuff here. You will need to give the declaration form that have got forged parent's signature. They will then give you a clip board and fill in a simple 2 page form about your hobbies and such. Wait for your name to be called.

Urine Test

From now onwards, it is about your whole body check up. Take a cup and a test strip that has multiple colours on it. Urine into the cup at the urinal and dip the strip into the cup. Many people hold the cup and urine right into their hand! Don't laugh. Just show the strip 4 metres away from the guy and you can dispose everything away.

Blood Test

Blood test is just beside urine test. Clench your fist and they will tie a strap at your arm very tightly. They will then wipe alcohol on the part above elbow and you will feel a strong ant's bite for 10 seconds? Try not to look at it and it will be done.

When I went home after the blood test, I kind of rub the area that is being injected because it feels like the inside has the bruise feeling. Now I know I should have left it alone to let it recover on it's own because I rubbed it so hard that the bruise became obvious from the outside and showing the blue-black. My friend who didn't rub it had no blue-black.

Hearing Test

Sit inside an enclosed room and listen to earpiece for the sound that is being played. Carefully listen to every sound and raise hand upon hearing any sound even the softest ones.

*Note: Must take this seriously because if you did not hear one of the soft sound, you will be considered to have hearing problems. You will need to come back another day to have advanced testing or some sort.

Eye Test

Eye test is pretty common. They will test you on whether you are colour blind and your eyesight. I couldn't see because I didn't wear spectacles. They immediately direct me somewhere else to check how bad is my eyesight. In the end, I heard that it is 175, 100 and I was relieved! Over the years, the degree didn't increase at all!

Body X-ray

Take off clothes, stand with the body touching the machine/device. The in-charge just have to make it sound professional by talking loudly into my ear. The room is already enclose and he just have to do that.

I have read legend about this X-ray guy. He stayed in the X-ray room for too long and he became mutated!

Teeth check

I think this is the station that is the fastest (actually there is one more that is fastest but that's in the later part)

Lie down and open your mouth. The dentist will say something like "R26 present, D24 not present and so on..." at a very fast speed. I wonder how the person that is taking note catch what is he saying. I think the D24 refers to the baby teeth and wisdom teeth.

Heartbeat Test?

I don't really know what this station tests but I guess is heartbeat because you need to take off clothes and they will put something that suck on your chest. They also clip something on your leg making me feel that electricity will run through it. But luckily, it doesn't feel anything except that the sucker thingy will leave multiple red patches on the chest.

Height, weight and blood pressure will be taken in this station as well. I kind of skip it and return to it afterwards. I don't know what's the reason of having a locker here. It might be linked to the next station.

Take off your pants

This is the station that most of the people are worried about. Legends mention that it is also called the "Cough test" whereby the doctor will ask you to turn to left and cough while holding on to your right testicle. If it moves, then you are healthy, vice versa.

Another famous legend also indicates that you need to wear presentable underwear and most preferably, boxers, because at this station, you will be waiting with that on only.

However, both of the legend didn't occur to me when I was doing the check-up. I just wait for my turn and enter a room. Take off pants and show the private part to the doctor. The doctor just sees it and that's all. Lastly, he will ask you if you have anything to declare and you are free to go.

The doctor ask me why my heart beats so fast when I was doing the heartbeat test. I replied that I thought there will be electricity running through my whole body and he just laughed. I didn't know my heart beats so fast until he mentioned it.

The end of body test.

IQ Test

This part is the most boring part. It takes the longest to finish and why didn't anyone tell me that the first few parts were just trials and not for real? I took it so seriously and then it dawned on me that it was just TRIALS!?!

People only realised it when they asked the person-in-charge that the questions seems to be repeated. And at the last part, I heard people saying that the test will be good if you want to be commandos and such.

The test basically tests the use of quadratic equation which I didn't revise on for years. It also have a section that test you on how the object will look like if it is turn this way or that way. Remembering numbers, patterns, words and many more.

After the test, you are free to go. They will give you a recruit booklet.

*Declaimer: Any parts might be different from yours depending on the time of your check-ups. This is just my true experience from going for a check-up in CMBP.
